Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using RSS Feed Reader ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

RSS Feed Reader is a free, browser-based RSS feed aggregator that allows users to:

  • Subscribe to RSS and Atom feeds from websites
  • Read and organize articles from subscribed feeds
  • Store feed data locally in their browser
  • Import and export feed subscriptions via OPML

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.

3. User Responsibilities

By using RSS Feed Reader, you agree to:

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes
  • Not attempt to circumvent any security features
  • Not use the Service to access content you are not authorized to view
  • Not use automated tools to abuse the feed proxy service
  • Respect the intellectual property rights of content publishers

4. Content and Third-Party Feeds

Feed Content

RSS Feed Reader displays content from third-party RSS feeds. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for the content of these feeds. The content you see is provided directly by the websites you choose to subscribe to.

Intellectual Property

The articles, images, and other content displayed through RSS feeds remain the intellectual property of their respective publishers. RSS Feed Reader is simply a tool for accessing publicly available RSS feeds.

Content Responsibility

You are responsible for the feeds you choose to subscribe to. If you encounter offensive, inaccurate, or illegal content, please contact the original publisher directly.

5. Local Data Storage

RSS Feed Reader stores all user data locally in your browser. This means:

  • You are responsible for backing up your data (use OPML export)
  • Clearing browser data will delete your subscriptions and reading history
  • Data is specific to each browser/device and does not sync automatically
  • We cannot recover lost data as we do not have access to it

6. Feed Proxy Service

We provide a proxy service to fetch RSS feeds due to browser security restrictions (CORS). By using this proxy, you agree that:

  • The proxy is provided for legitimate RSS reading purposes only
  • Excessive or abusive use may result in rate limiting
  • We may modify or discontinue the proxy service at any time
  • The proxy does not guarantee access to all feeds (some may be blocked by publishers)

7. Service Availability

We strive to maintain consistent service availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled maintenance
  • Technical issues
  • Circumstances beyond our control

Since your data is stored locally, you may still access previously cached articles during service interruptions.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be error-free or uninterrupted
  • All RSS feeds will be accessible or properly formatted
  • The content from third-party feeds is accurate or reliable
  • Your local data will be preserved indefinitely

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RSS FEED READER AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION.

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service (which is zero, as the Service is free).

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using RSS Feed Reader at any time. Since all data is stored locally, simply closing the browser tab ends your session. To fully remove the Service:

  • Clear the site data for rss-feed-reader.com in your browser settings
  • Remove any PWA installation if applicable

We reserve the right to block access to the Service for users who violate these terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
